Random Fandom at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8 - It’s time to get ready for our next Random Fandom Friday! Each month we celebrate a new popular theme geared towards kids in grades 5-8. This month we will make crafts, eat snacks, play games and talk about our favorite aspects of Doctor Who! Teen Crafternoon: Chinese Calligraphy at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13 - Ever wanted to learn Chinese calligraphy? Join Wells resident Jeanne Gamage to make a Chinese New Year scroll and learn how to write in Chinese with a brush! Teens in grades 5 and up are encouraged to participate and all materials will be provided. Computer Camp: File Basics at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7 - Come to the library to learn how to save, organize and manage files and folders on your computer. Adult Services Librarian Kristi Bryant will help you start the year with organizational skills to make your digital files more usable for 2016! Computers will be provided. Lunch and Learn: Dress a Girl Around the World at noon Friday, Jan. 8 - The vast number of children around the world without access to clothing makes them susceptible to a widespread number of threats. Jackie Dewey is a local resident who sews simple dresses to send to girls around the world. Come learn more about how the organization works and how to help. Wellness Wednesday: The Healing Benefits of Massage and Reiki at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13 - Sue Ramatowski is a Licensed Massage Therapist, Reiki Master, and the owner of Stress Escapes in Wells. Sue will explain some of the lesser known health benefits of massage - greater blood flow and circulation, release of toxins from the body, and improved muscle health. She’ll also talk about the ancient art of Reiki, which brings a person into balance on four levels; physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. Come and learn about these healing modalities! Computer Camp: Maintaining Your Computer - Tips and Tricks to Keep it Running Smoothly at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 14. Library Director Devin Burritt will talk about free products to keep your computer running well.
