KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — University of Tennessee (UT) officials told WATE that ridership aboard the T Transit System has increased by 55% over the same period last year. That amounts to an increase of 96,078 primarily student passengers.

The increase is attributed to UT branding on new buses, making them more visible, and bus tracking technology. The new fleet of 20 vehicles is operated by First Transit. The buses feature a Big Orange checkerboard and an illustration of Smokey, the university mascot. For the full story, click here.
